- Age spots and superficial pigmentation
What to Expect on Procedure Day:
Laser skin resurfacing is performed in a room specially equipped with our laser system. The length of the procedure will depend greatly on the areas you want to be treated. Before your procedure, you will discuss with one of our doctors the best method of anesthesia for you. During the procedure, the laser energy will be applied to your face in quick bursts, vaporizing old skin, and tightening skin. Discomfort during the procedure will vary between patients.
After treatment, your skin will be red and very sensitive. The degree of redness depends on the age and health of your skin. The redness will fade to pink and gradually resolve. Normally, the pink color may be camouflaged with make-up after seven to 10 days.
Someone will need to drive you home after your procedure, and you will probably want to relax for the rest of the day. You will need to avoid direct sun exposure for at least two weeks after your procedure. Additionally, avoid liquid foundations or pressed powder foundations for seven days.
Alternatives to Microdermabrasion:
